Formed in 1962, Timeslice's roots can be traced back to 1957, when
it was a part of the Robert Horne group. It was during this period
that the first piece of (in house) software was developed - a manufacturing,
storage and distribution system for the group's paper division. The
success of this system (now named Loadstar) led to the formation of
Timeslice Limited (1962), and subsequently, Loadstar's sale to other
paper merchants.
Throughout the 1960's and 70's Timeslice continued to grow, and
in 1980 moved to William Gaitskell House, where it embarked on a
new chapter in its history, the development of Case Management and
Legal Accounting Software, named Actionman and Lawman respectively.
The success of both these products enabled Timeslice to expand further,
and in 1986 it moved from William Gaitskell House (which it shared
with City Computer Holdings and UCL) to its new purpose built offices
in Rotherhithe.
From there it continued to grow when in 1995 it was purchased
by the City Computers Holding group - suppliers of software to the
insurance industry. This acquisition leg to Timeslice's return to
William Gaitskell House, where it currently resides with its sister
companies; City Computers
Limited and Minervia Limited.
