West
Sussex based law firm, Stevens Drake, were one of the
first firms to install Timeslice’s Practice Management
System, LAWMAN. Since
it’s implementation in May 2001, they have found their
business efficiency has been revolutionised.
Ease of use is one of the strongest features of LAWMAN,
this is attributed to Timeslice working closely with partners,
fee earners and legal cashiers when developing the system.
Stevens Drake Practice Manager, Phil Boorer believes that
this user friendliness is the key to its success at his
firm.
Stevens Drake are a medium sized commercial law practice,
comprising of six partners and forty six fee earners.
Areas of business include, Corporate Commercial Law, Commercial
Property, Corporate Debt Recovery, Commercial Litigation
and Employment. They also have specialist lawyers in Civil
Litigation, Family Law, Conveyancing, Probate, Insolvency,
Wills and Trusts.
Why LAWMAN? Having
examined the marketplace, they concluded that no other
system could fulfil the firms requirements. “We liked
what we saw, we looked at various systems but found that
LAWMAN gave us everything
we were looking for in an accounts system at an affordable
price,” says Phil. |
What
benefits has the new system brought? “The system is
more up to date than others we have seen. Using Windows
functionality makes it easier to navigate between the
screens.”
Phil also considers the impressive reporting facilities
have helped. “Analysis has improved especially on time
recording. It’s also very good at breaking down criteria
by fee earner, by department, by bills outstanding and
by work in progress outstanding etc.”
A comprehensive training package, delivered by experienced
members of the Timeslice team, accompanied the installation.
LAWMAN’s user friendly
design enabled even inexperienced computer users to rapidly
learn how to operate the system. “The new software has
given us the opportunity to produce vital management information
at the click of a button,” says Phil.
LAWMAN is running
in a mixed environment of PC’s and Citrix Metaframe (thin
client).
Phil concludes. “I’m pleased with the support and assistance
from Timeslice. We have received an excellent return from
our investment.” |
